My DH has a funny story from his childhood - but I'm betting you'll relate to his mother. Seems mum was sick of the 'what's this?' and 'I don't like this' comments, so she promised the next one would result in trouble. Of course there was another comment from one of her boys so she... put them on a bread and water diet! All they got to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner was bread and water. For three days (I guess then she felt too guilty to continue and/or that they'd learned their lesson). The boys still remember this (and as adults neither is particularly picky, and they're both polite about commenting on dinner/cooking that's done for them). The best bit of all though, is that the boy next door asked his mother if he could please go on a bread and water diet too!

I also made homemade chicken nuggets yesterday. Ialso save my unused bread heels in the freezer to wait til I need bread crumbs too! I always knew we were kindred spirits....

( my recipe uses rice crispies & flour though so I didn't have to make my own bread crumb coating.... which cut my dinner time prep down a little)

There was no complaining at my table either. chicken nuggets are indeed a crowd pleaser. I am loving Margot's story about the bread and water diet. Maybe you need to have a special FHE, express your feelings about dinner commentary and request "if you don't have something nice to say then don't say nothin' at all" If comments still come, bread and water! ...just a thought. :)
Now, I better go get ready for work. I am avoiding.....

I coat my chicken in Italian dressing then coat with parmesan cheese and Bake.

Thats it ---super easy and soooo good!

Ohhh Amy - you had me until I read how long it took to prepare - ouch! I do think I will try it for next week. My kids ate cereal tonight because they opted not to eat a homemade turkey sandwich (prepared with turkey that I baked this weekend) and homemade sweet potatoe fries. I get the picky eater thing - hate it and try not to get to discouraged. I have managed to get them to drink my green smoothies every morning - I squeeze the good stuff in where I can. Thanks for posting the recipe, it looks good!

Wow, that is some mega-prep. You are superwoman.
