Amy this is a beautiful entry. I love reading your blog...you always leave me with something to think about. I'm so glad you had this wonderful moment with Haley. I know you both needed that.

OH MY GOSH! This entry is pure poetry. Amy, I love this entry so much that words alone cannot describe how you have made me feel. Thank you, thank you for sharing this moment.

BEAUTIFUL photo. Oh, I don't care to play in the dirt .... but I SURE love to see the flowers.

I don't have a daughter, but I "get" your post. I, too, spend time on my knees in the dust. The flowers are my children, born of sweat and toil. I always feel closer to God when I'm on my knees among my flowers than anywhere else.

I loved your post today, and I'm so glad you had that time with your daughter. What a powerful page it would make to place her photo along with a photo of the petunias and your words . . . . .

Gorgeous photo!!

This is deep. It's like every challenge having its gift for you.

Beautiful flowers!

Hi Amy, I don't know you, but I came across your blog today, and have enjoyed reading it. As I read this entry, I thought about the verse you wrote..."cursed is the ground for your sake" and I understood it differently than I ever had before. Not "the ground is cursed and it's your fault" but "the ground is cursed and it's FOR YOU". The ground won't bring forth flowers and trees and beautiful things by itself anymore...now you get to help! You get to be part of the creation (again) and see things grow, and teach YOUR children what it's like to plant something and see the miracle of life. Wow. Thank you for that.
