Thanks for the recipes - they sound really good. Um, is a cube of butter the same as a stick? I seem to remember cubes from my Colorado days, but we don't have them here in the mid Atlantic.

I don't like the hard edges of brownies either, so I was really SURPRISED when I saw an ad selling brownies with every edge guaranteed to be "just like the corner pieces"! The ad said something like, "Tired of your family fighting over who gets to eat the corner brownies?" For weeks I marvelled about anyone preferring corner brownies. But the fact was further emphasized when I saw for sale a baking device that divided a 9X13 pan into individual sized brownie sections so that every brownie would have the crispy edges of a corner piece. I just can't get over my surprise that there is a profit to be made from the crispy edges!
