My "Christmas tunes, Amy Style" has most of these songs. I listen to it all the time (I might even admit to listening to it not at Christmas.) And the Rob Thomas one is my fave.

Love Christmas music!

We just discovered Celtic Woman last week and bought their Christmas album last night (free iTunes card!). I also love that "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman" from BNL and Sarah M. One of my favorites.

Chris Selander

Ok so don't laugh at my favorite Christmas song. I absolutely love "Do They Know It's Christmas" (either original version or the one by Bare Naked Ladies). The first time I hear it each season, I actually cry. It just truly touches me to think of people that don't have anything and especially those not enjoying Christmas. I love the line "Throw your arms around the world at Christmastime.

All my other favorites are ones you listed :)

My kids love Jingle Bells on the Barenaked Ladies CD. They beg - let's hear the crazy Jingle Bell song again and again and again! I've been known to drive the long way home just so they could finish hearing the song.

Okay, I bought the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's CD just so I could listen to "Christmas in Colorado." Call me weird, but there it is.

One of the surprisingly good Christmas CDs I own is by the Moody Blues. It has some original stuff, plus a couple of contemporary tunes like "When a Child is Born," and some absolutely stunning arrangements of the classics.

John Denver and the Muppets' "The Twelve Days of Christmas" goes great with a cup of hot chocolate and a fleece blanket.

But for the Real Christmas Sound(tm), nothing beats Nat King Cole's "Cole, Christmas, and Kids" CD and his daughter Natalie Cole's "The Magic of Christmas" CD for me.

The Coventry Carol Alison Moyet--totally one of my faves.
I really like the "walking in a WInter wonderland by the Eurythmics.
The 80's girl in me, I think.
And the country music hate aside...I love "Happy Christmas Eve" by the Oakridge Boys. Or is it Oak Ridge Boys? Anyway, not one played a lot, but a good one.
Merry Christmas Amy!

My new favorite Christmas song is "White Wine in the Sun." by Tim Minchin. Great lyrics you can check it out here

I think you'd like "It Came Upon The Midnight Clear" by Sixpence None The Richer. It's one I enjoy and seems to fit with your style.

Love all the suggestions!

I'm a Christmas music fanatic. Here are some of my favorites.

When a Child is Born - Il Divo
Take a Walk Through Bethlehem - Ray Vega
Pretty Paper - Willie Nelson
Nothing but a Child - Kathy Mattea
Mary Did You Know? - Kathy Mattea
The Star - Kathy Mattea
The Man Who Ran the Inn - Peter McCann
I'm Your Angel - R. Kelly and Celine Dion
Gabriel's Message - Sting
All I Want For Christmas is You - Vince Vance and the Valiants
Peace Carol - John Denver and the Muppets
The Nativity - Lee Ann Womack
Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - U2
Go Tell It On The Mountain - 259
When My Heart Finds Christmas - Harry Connick Jr.
Christmas Canon - Trans Siberian Orchestra
Wishing for This - Leigh Nash
Joseph's Lullaby - MercyMe
Blue Christmas - Ann and Nancy Wilson
The Magic of Christmas Day - Celine Dion
What Christmas Means to Me - Paul Young
Louisiana Christmas Day - Aaron Neville

Some of these were free from Amazon and iTunes. Kathy Mattea's Good News and Celine Dion's These Are Special Times are wonderful albums. The 259 album came free from (I believe) Scrapbooks.com a few years back - it's beautiful a capella music. And these just scratch the surface . . . .
