Wendy

There were so many sentences in this post that I wanted to highlight and say "Amen" to! You have hit the nail on the head to my present feelings about my oldest son (now approaching college and having recently totaled his second car - yikes, talk about moments of poor judgment and the painful consequences that follow). That feeling that we cannot be there with them helping them to navigate the waters and the seeming inevitability of some bad choices which could indeed change the course of life entirely. It is enough to make me weep without even having such an unsettling dream. As you have said, "I never want to see that look - the dawning realization that a wrong choice has changed everything forever - in my waking life on ... the face of any of my kids." Praying for peace for you and for me, in regards to our independence-approaching children.
