I'm so with you on the shorts! There are no flattering knee length shorts for my body type. Every year I try to find a cute pair, but whatever I buy, I end up seeing on an 80 year old woman by the end of summer. I have the same problem with swimming suits. In fact, I just returned my new "old lady" suit yesterday because, really, I saw an 80 year old woman at Utah Lake last week in MY SUIT!

Swimsuits: My mil and I have matching suits. lol
Shorts: I'm too tall to be able to find any shorts long enough for Mormondom, and my capris are never the right length . . . but they are so much cooler than long pants that I just had to let it go.

I love love love summer! I'm so glad you found yourself loving it. My goal is that this year, when the heat hits, I will not forget that it's cooler in the mountains and forget to go hiking the last 6 weeks of summer (which is what has happened the last two summers). I'm looking forward to hours of sitting under my neighbor's shade trees while the kids jump on the tramp or play in the water. I'm excited to have the Pass of all Passes and spend a ridiculous number of hours at 7 Peaks.

I'm excited to have these last three months of almost neverending play time with my son before he enters first grade, when he will be gone for more hours a day than ever in the past. I'm going to try to embrace EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

Feisty Harriet

I also hate shorts, but I started wearing knee-length cotton skirts (either a cute print or just a solid knit) and love it. Sure, I can't do a few things in them, but I somehow feel that when outdoor hiking or something it's totally fine to wear shorts. Just not, you know, to Costco.

Capris work for me. It's not my best look but as long as I feel cool, I'm sure I look cool also!
Summer has always been my least favorite time of the year (it gets really hot here in southern Utah) but I'm trying hard to appreciate all the seasons...and hoping that my flowers will stay alive.

I too have a love/hate relationship with summer...and summer clothing. Thanks for the reminder to look on the bright side and focus on the things that I do love about this season. Great post and beautiful pictures!
